On Memorial Day every year ... I remember back to being a junior in high school and making the trip to Presidential Classroom in Washington D.C.
I was having a blast enjoying a lot of learning and a lot of fun...when the day came to visit Arlington National Cemetery that all was put on hold. The somber reality of looking out over the rows and rows of tombstones made life very clear. There were many, MANY that came before me and gave the ultimate sacrifice, for me and you and all of our brothers and sisters in this great free country.
They were men and women who bravely laid their lives on the line and paid an ultimate sacrifice so I could walk freely today.
It was that sacrifice that ensures our ability to choose whomever we want as a President...even when we disagree. It allows those who don't like things to stand up and speak our minds with a free and open discussion. That sacrifice allows us the ability to be ourselves and not be held to one thought of one ideal.
Men and women who believed we should be free.
Let everyone that knows someone hurting from a loss know that I appreciate the sacrifice that was made and will not forget the efforts of their loved ones.
Today we remember those men and women. Thank you and God be with your families, friends and all of us.
